LONGVIEW, WA – According to the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) the Lane Titans baseball team has secured–at the very least–an appearance in the NWAC title game on Monday.
The Titans defeated the Everett Trojans, 5-1, Saturday night behind 6.0 innings and only one earned run from Griffin Scott. He recorded seven strikeouts to earn his ninth win of the season. Sam Wilson came in and earned the save in 3.0 innings with 2 strikeouts.
Peyton Tyner and Trevor Devincenzi paced the Lane offense. Tuner recorded 2 hits (single, double) and 2 RBIs. His double in the 6th inning put the Titans ahead. Devincenzi also recorded 2 hits (single, double).
Pre the NWAC, "Lane will next play in Game 13 against South Region foe Linn-Benton at 4:05 p.m. The Titans have already guaranteed their spot on Championship Monday regardless of Sunday's result, but can give themselves two chances to claim the title with a win over LBCC."
