Lane Baseball Cruises to Victories over Clackamas

EUGENE, OR -- On Thursday, April 16, the Lane titans baseball team added two more wins to their regular season tally, bringing their total wins to 25. The Titans defeated the Clackamas Cougars 11-0 in Game 1 and 16-0 in Game 2.

Sophomore Griffin Scott took the mound in the first game and pitched 5.0 innings, allowed one hit and struckout seven Clackamas batters. Beau Kernin and Donnie Morgan each threw 1.0 inning with each struckout one. On the offensive side, eight Lane batters recorded at least one hit, with Cody Roletto, Nolan Donivan, Peyton Tyner, Sebastian Contreras and Morgan all recording 2+ hits. Lane second baseman Jalen Riddle smashed a 3-run home run on a full count in the third inning. That was his first career home run.

In Game 2, Lane's starting pitcher Lucas Geren went 5.0 innings, allowed 2 hits and struckout 6 batters. Roletto cemented the Titans lead with a 2-run home run in the 5th inning. The Cougars sloppy defense allowed the Titans to score in five consecutive innings and build a 16-0 lead going into the 7th inning.  The game would end there as the Cougars failed to score any runs. 

Lane improved to 25-11 on the and as of Friday leads the entire NWAC for runs scored (165) and batting average (.324) in conference play. 

The Titans travel to Clackamas on Saturday to finish the four-game series. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
