Titans, Penguins Split Saturday Series

EUGENE, OR -- On Saturday, April 4, the Lane Titans baseball team played two more games against the Clark Penguins, with the two teams splitting results.

The Titans, led by starting pitcher Kenneth Price, defeated the Penguins 5-2 in Game 1. Price pitched 6 innings and struck out six batters while allowing just one run. Austin Takahashi led the Titans with 3 hits, including a double to lead off the bottom of the 4th inning.

Game 2 had Lane take an early 1-0 lead in the 1st inning. The score stood pat until the 4th inning when the Penguins scored 3 runs to take a 3-1 lead. They built on that lead in the 5th on a double from Rylan Taguchi. The Penguins would win, 4-1, and refuse the Titan sweep.

The Lane Titans will play the Southwestern Oregon Lakers on Wednesday for a two-game series beginning at 1 p.m (schedule is subject to change).
