EUGENE, OR -- The Lane Titans baseball program welcomed the Chemeketa Storm to Eugene on Wednesday, March 11 for an afternoon doubleheader. In both games, the Storm held a least a one-run lead, but couldn't contain the Titans' offense down the stretch. Lane won Game 1, 5-4, and Game 2, 9-7.
In Game 1, the Storm took a two-run lead in the top of the 4th inning before allowing Lane to score one in the bottom of the 4th and three more runs in the bottom of the 5th to reclaim their lead, 5-3. Chemeketa would score once more in the 8th inning. Titans reliever Caleb Malloy earned his fifth save of the season.
The second match featured more offense with 19 combined hits and 16 combined runs. Third baseman Nolan Donivan, catcher Cody Roletto (2 RBIs) and second baseman Jalen Riddle (3 RBIs) all recorded three hits. Chemeketa scored three runs in the 6th and took a 7-6 lead headed into the bottom of the inning. Lane responded with 3 runs of their own and the Titans completed their come-from-behind victory, 9-7.
The Titans will travel to Albany and play the Linn-Benton Roadrunners on Saturday, March 14 beginning at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
